Dr. Irene Liu

Dr. Irene Liu is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta specializing in clinical neuropsychology. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Calgary, accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. Her training included an accredited pre-doctoral residency in adult neuropsychology at the London Clinical Psychology Consortium, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Pachet Assessment and Rehabilitation Services.

Dr. Liu is a consultant neuropsychologist at Coffey Brown & Associates Psychological Services and a staff neuropsychologist at Alberta Health Services - Specialized Geriatric Services. She is also a General Associate at the University of Calgary and was previously an Adjunct Professor at St. Mary’s University. She has been involved with multiple research projects and supervision of Psychology Practicum Students, Psychology Residents, and Provisional Registered Psychologists.

Dr. Liu is experienced with conducting neuropsychological evaluations, comprehensive psychological assessments, vocational assessments, dementia differentials, concussion assessments, brief neuropsychological screenings, and medical file reviews. She commonly assesses adults experiencing neurocognitive challenges related to traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, neurological disorders, developmental disorders, complex co-morbid medical conditions, as well as psychiatric problems including trauma, mood, anxiety, and somatization disorders. Dr. Liu is a qualified capacity assessor with the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee. She conducts decision-making capacity evaluations for personal and financial matters, testamentary capacity, and retrospective capacity assessments.
